Capital. Prior to joining St. Paul Venture Capital, Mr. Baltzell was

Officer of St. Francis Medical Technologies. St Francis was a medical device
company that developed a minimally invasive device and procedure to treat lumbar
spinal stenosis, a degenerative spine disease, that was acquired by Kyphon in
January 2007 for $725 million. In addition to the St. Francis success, Mike
has contributed to successful investor outcomes in his three previous companies.
He served as Vice President of Finance and Administration & CFO for Silicon Genetics,
acquired by Agilent Technologies; Collagen Aesthetics, Inc., acquired by Inamed
Corporation; and Penederm Incorporated, a publicly-traded specialty pharmaceutical
company acquired by Mylan Laboratories. Mike is a certified public accountant,
having begun his career at Deloitte and Touche LLP. He is a graduate of

- Ashley Boam currently serves as Acting Deputy Director for Science and Review Policy in

Ms. Boam earned her B.S.E and M.S.B.E. in biomedical engineering from Tulane University
and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, respectively. She joined the FDA in 1993
as a scientific reviewer in the Division of Ophthalmic and ENT Devices. In 2002,
she joined the Division of Cardiovascular Devices as Chief of the Interventional

Cardiovascular Imaging Systems, the first and leading developer of
ultrasound imaging catheters which was eventually acquired for
$125 million by Boston Scientific. His most recent success,
CardioThoracic Systems (CTS), the market leader in disposable
instruments and systems for performing minimally invasive beating
heart bypass surgery, was acquired by Guidant for $350 million in
November 1999. Rich was a co-founder of CTS and the force that led
the company to an initial public offering in only 7 months, the fastest
of any medical technology company in history. Mr. Ferrari also Co-Founded
the Medical Technology Group which spun-out Integrated Vascular Systems,
acquired by Abbot Vascular and Ensure, acquired by J&J.
Previously Mr. Ferrari held the positions of Executive Vice President
and General Manager of ADAC Laboratories. In 1996 he founded
Saratoga Ventures, a venture capital partnership that has provided
seed financing to startup medical technology companies. Mr. Ferrari

- Mark Wagner's career in MedTech has spanned nearly 30 years including 15 years
with GE Healthcare and three years with Nellcor. He has been a CEO of
multiple companies in the Twin Cities over the last 15 years. Notable
successes include the sales of Survivalink (Automated External Defibrillators)
at five times revenue and ProVation Medical (Clinical software) at nine times
revenue. Under his leadership overall Venture Capital returns have averaged
5X invested capital. As a CEO or Board member, he has raised nearly $100M of
capital in the forms of venture equity, venture debt and strategic equity.
Most recently he co-founded and is Board Chairman of Orasi Medical, a spin-out
from the University of Minnesota, that is developing a diagnostic tool for
neurological diseases using data derived from Magnetoencephalography (MEG).
He recently joined the board of BioMedix.

- Kevin Wasserstein is a Managing Director at Versant Ventures, a leading
healthcare-focused venture capital firm targeting early-stage investments
across healthcare. Kevin brings more than fifteen years of venture
capital and operating experience in medical device and high technology companies,
and specializes in investing and building medical device companies from their
earliest seed or concept stages through their entire life cycle. Prior to
joining Versant in 2002, Kevin served in a variety of marketing and business
development roles at Guidant Corporation, including acting as the Director of
Marketing in Guidant's Cardiac Surgery Group, and serving in Guidant's Compass
Business Development Group, where he was involved in acquisition, licensing and
investment activities with both private and public medical device companies, and
in formulating corporate strategies to develop innovative medical technologies.
Kevin currently serves, or has served, in a variety of board or advisory roles
with companies which include: Acclarent, Cellutions, LipoSonix, NDO Surgical,
NeoGuide Systems, Rox Medical, Second Sight Medical, St. Francis Medical (sold)
and The Innovation Factory.
Kevin holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering,
as well as an MBA, all from Stanford University.
